The Role

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a vital role in enhancing production operations. This broad SME‑style position combines manufacturing/process engineering (70%) with maintenance and facilities support (30). Enjoy the variety and autonomy of owning processes end‑to‑end in a live manufacturing setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manufacturing Engineering & Continuous Improvement: Drive CI using Lean, 5S, PDCA, Poka‑Yoke, and Six Sigma tools. Design and develop innovative manufacturing processes, systems, and jigs. Support NPI and ensure smooth process launches. Produce and maintain PFMEAs and quality documentation. Optimise production layouts for efficiency. Create technical drawings using CAD. Develop SOPs and standardised processes.
  • Maintenance & Facilities Engineering: Ensure plant safety and operational compliance. Support maintenance activities and breakdown responses. Maintain accurate maintenance records. Train operators in daily machine care.
  • Health, Safety & Quality: Uphold site Health & Safety standards. Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

About You

  • HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Production Engineering
  • Minimum 2 years' manufacturing experience
  • Confident with CAD and Microsoft Office
  • Clear communication skills and proactive mindset
  • Familiarity with Lean, APQP, PFMEA, and NPI is a plus
