Our client is looking for a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Engineer based in Barrow, working 5 days a week in the End User Experience (EUE) department.

Essential Skills:

  • Supporting virtual desktop environments
  • VDI performance, access, stability
  • User support within virtualised desktops

Experience:

  • Must have subject matter expertise and experience in VDI - this is essential for this role.
  • In-depth knowledge and good understanding of Microsoft Windows O/S (Windows 10 & Windows 7), including build, configuration and registry settings is required, along with a level of proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • SCCM experience including OS deployment, application deployment, fault finding, monitoring and reporting desired.
  • Understanding of Scripting technologies such as PowerShell, VB Scripting, and batch files is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of disk encryption using BitLocker, NTFS permissions and shared folder security is useful.
  • An appreciation of the Microsoft Exchange environment, email client configuration, MS Outlook, instant messaging tools (Skype for Business), along with general etiquette.
