Overview
In this Technical Business Analyst role, you will translate business needs into technical data and analytics solutions within a financial crime context. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to analyse data flows, document requirements, and support regulatory-change initiatives across AML, Fraud, and Transaction Monitoring. You’ll contribute to the full delivery lifecycle, ensuring solutions align with business goals and compliance requirements. This contract role offers hybrid working and exposure to a financial crime analytics programme at scale.
Responsibilities
- Gather, analyse, and document business and technical requirements
- Understand current and future-state processes with stakeholders
- Analyze and document data lineage, data flows, and system interactions
- Support requirements traceability from business need to technical delivery
- Collaborate with architecture, engineering, and data teams to define solutions
- Produce process maps, functional specifications, and supporting documentation
- Conduct gap analyses and impact assessments
- Support testing activities including UAT and defect management
- Contribute to regulatory and financial crime change initiatives
- Support delivery across multiple workstreams
Key requirements
- Experience as a Business Analyst within financial services or other regulated environments
- Strong understanding of data analysis, data mapping, and data lineage concepts
- Experience working with technology, architecture, and engineering teams
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Experience producing high-quality analysis and documentation
- Knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery methodologies
- Ability to manage competing priorities within complex programmes
