Our client, a leading higher education institution, is seeking a Systems Officer to join their Student Systems team. This role is hybrid, with Monday and Tuesday being the preferred days the successful candidate will be at the South Kensington campus, however there is some flexibility if needed. The role starts on 14th October until mid/end December. Interviews are to be virtual week commencing 7th October. Pay rate £22ph.
Reporting directly to the Student Systems Manager, you will be responsible for providing first-line support for the main student record system and other student-related systems and interfaces.
Responsibilities:- Provide proactive first-line support for users of the student systems, addressing issues via email, telephone, video calls, or in-person.
- Complete established operational tasks within the main student system and other related systems.
- Maintain and review logs for scheduled system jobs, investigating and escalating any anomalies.
- Contribute to system upgrade and regression testing.
- Update webpages and administer access to student systems.
- Utilise management information systems, including SQL, to produce and analyse reports.
- Support data reconciliation activities and resolve data quality irregularities.
- Keep skills and knowledge of relevant systems up-to-date.
- Build effective working relationships with colleagues across the organisation.
- Assist with general university duties and support the work of university committees when required.
- Degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience working collaboratively while also being able to work autonomously.
- Previous experience providing responsive and customer-focused service.
- Commitment to completing tasks successfully with excellent results.
- Ability to plan and progress work activities with initiative and judgement.
- Experience with data analysis or calculations.
- Familiarity with databases and SQL.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and databases.
- Meticulous attention to detail and excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing demands.
