The Opportunity
As a Software Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, developing and enhancing business-critical applications and services. Working across backend and full-stack development, you'll help deliver secure, scalable solutions while collaborating with a talented team focused on solving complex technical challenges.
What You'll Be Doing
- Designing and developing backend services using Go
- Building and enhancing RESTful APIs
- Creating and maintaining PostgreSQL databases and data models
- Developing real-time and event-driven platform capabilities
- Implementing secure authentication and communication mechanisms
- Building React-based interfaces and operational dashboards
- Supporting automated testing and CI/CD processes
- Contributing to solution design and technical architecture decisions
- Developing and extending internal tools and platforms
- Collaborating with engineering teams across software, networking and infrastructure
About You
Backend Development
- Commercial experience developing applications in Go (Golang)
- Strong REST API development experience
- PostgreSQL database experience
- Knowledge of ORM frameworks, ideally GORM
- Understanding of concurrent programming concepts including goroutines, channels and mutexes
- Experience with Docker and containerised applications
Frontend Development
- React development experience
- Knowledge of React Hooks including useState, useCallback and useMemo
- Modern JavaScript development (ES6+, async/await)
- Experience integrating APIs using Axios or similar tools
- Experience with modern CSS frameworks, ideally Tailwind CSS
Desirable Experience
- mTLS and X.509 certificate management
- HashiCorp Vault, Consul or Terraform
- InfluxDB
- Server-Sent Events (SSE) and WebSockets
- Networking or embedded systems exposure
- Data visualisation tools such as Recharts or D3
- Distributed systems and scalable architectures
