Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineering professional with strong expertise in Python, C#/.NET, enterprise data platforms, and database technologies. This role combines hands-on technical leadership with ownership of strategic technology initiatives supporting business-critical data and analytics capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Leadership
    • Lead the design and delivery of enterprise-grade software applications and data platforms using Python and C# (.NET).
    • Define solution architecture and engineering standards for scalable, resilient, and maintainable systems.
    • Act as a technical authority for software engineering, database design, and data platform initiatives.
    • Drive modernization of legacy applications and migration towards cloud-native architectures.
    • Review technical designs and code to ensure alignment with engineering standards and best practices.
    • Champion software quality, security, performance, and operational excellence.
  • Data Platform & Solution Ownership
    • Lead delivery of data integration, ETL/ELT, and analytics enablement solutions.
    • Oversee design and implementation of data models across operational, analytical, and reporting workloads.
    • Ensure alignment with enterprise data strategy, architecture standards, and governance frameworks.
    • Drive optimization of database performance, scalability, and data processing capabilities.
    • Collaborate with Data Engineering, BI, Analytics, and Architecture teams to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Stakeholder Management
    • Partner with business stakeholders to understand strategic objectives and translate them into technical solutions.
    • Provide technical guidance and recommendations to senior management and project sponsors.
    • Manage priorities across multiple initiatives while balancing delivery, risk, and technical debt.
    • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • People Leadership & Mentoring
    • Mentor and develop software engineers and technical specialists.
    • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, collaboration, and innovation.
    • Support recruitment activities including technical assessments and interviews.
    • Foster knowledge sharing and engineering best practices across teams.
  • Governance, Risk & Controls
    • Ensure solutions comply with security, data governance, regulatory, and operational risk requirements.
    • Support audit, compliance, and resiliency initiatives.
    • Implement appropriate monitoring, logging, and operational support frameworks.
    • Drive adoption of CI/CD, automated testing, and DevOps practices across development teams.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Engineering & Development
    • Extensive experience developing enterprise applications using Python, C# / .NET Core / .NET 8+
    • Strong experience designing distributed systems, APIs, and service-oriented architecture.
    • Proven ability to lead technical delivery across multiple projects and teams.
    • Experience defining engineering standards, design patterns, and development best practices.
  • Database & Data Engineering
    • Strong experience with SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and enterprise database platforms.
    • Expertise in data modelling (OLTP, OLAP, dimensional models), query optimization and performance tuning, database scalability and resilience, data governance and quality management.
    • Experience delivering large-scale ETL/ELT solutions and enterprise data pipelines.
    • Experience with event-driven and messaging architectures.
  • Data Platforms & Cloud Technologies
    • Hands-on experience with Azure Data Lake, Databricks, Snowflake, Delta Lake, Azure Synapse Analytics / Microsoft Fabric, Spark / PySpark.
    • Strong understanding of Data Lake and Lakehouse architecture, hybrid cloud environments, enterprise integration patterns, modern data formats including Parquet, Avro, and ORC.
  • DevOps & Platform Engineering
    • Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
    • Experience with infrastructure automation and environment management.
    • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Azure DevOps, Git-based development workflows.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading technology initiatives within Financial Services, Capital Markets, Investment Banking, or Corporate Banking environments.
  • Experience delivering cloud migration and platform modernization programs.
  • Knowledge of data governance frameworks and regulatory requirements.
  • Familiarity with real-time streaming platforms such as Kafka and Azure Event Hub.
  • Understanding machine learning and advanced analytics platforms.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
  • Industry certifications in Azure, Data Engineering, Architecture, or Software Engineering.
