Senior Product Manager required to work with a Government department. This is an initial 24 month contract, paying £ a day, inside IR35, hybrid working.
Job Description:
- Champion the delivery and continuous improvement of products and define, own and solve problems.
- Use knowledge of user needs and business goals to frame problems, set priorities and inform delivery teams of continuous improvement.
- Responsible for developing the overall vision for the product and engage teams and stakeholders in its development over time.
- Manage a product through discovery, alpha, beta and live states.
- Provide direction and empowerment to high performing, multi-disciplinary teams, ensuring return on investment and execution of the vision.
- Represent users throughout the delivery process.
- Manage multiple products for a whole service or a single product that is especially complex, high risk or sensitive.
- May manage/mentor associate product managers and product managers.
- Involved in elements of programme management activity.

- Strategic ownership: Developing and maintaining an understanding of economic, social, political, environmental and technological developments to ensure activity is relevant.
- Ensure plans and activities reflect wider strategic priorities and communicate effectively with senior leaders to influence future strategies.
- Agile working: Coaching and leading teams in Agile and Lean practices, determining the right approach for the team and evaluating this through the life of a project.
- Lifecycle perspective: Understanding of the different phases of the product lifecycle and the impact this has on product strategy.
- User focus: User-centred design is at the heart of our work. Collaborate with user researchers and represent users internally; understand the difference between user needs and desires; champion user research to focus on all users.
