We're searching for a passionate Senior HR Consultant to provide strategic oversight during the Head of HR's maternity leave. About the Role
In this pivotal role, you will serve as a crucial bridge between the HR department, Senior Leadership Team (SLT), and Executive Team. Collaborating directly with senior stakeholders, you will manage complex employee relations matters and mentor our HR Assistant to ensure seamless departmental continuity.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Serve as the main point of contact for the CEO and leadership team, providing expert guidance on people decisions, risk management, and organisational continuity.
- Team Management: Directly line manage the HR Assistant, setting priorities, overseeing workload delivery, and conducting 1:1s to foster their professional growth.
- Complex Case Management: Take ownership of high-risk cases, including grievances and discrimination claims, ensuring fair and compliant outcomes.
- Coaching & Mentoring: Provide structured coaching to the HR Assistant, reviewing casework to build confidence and independence.
- Legal Safeguarding: Review and sign off on final formal outcomes and settlement agreements to protect the organisation from legal exposure.
- HR Strategy Oversight: Maintain alignment of HR strategies with core company values and policies during your tenure.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: Minimum 7+ years of HR experience at a senior level, with a proven track record of influencing and collaborating with Executive stakeholders.
- Expert Knowledge: Up-to-date knowledge of UK employment law and experience leading complex ER cases from start to finish.
- Mentorship Passion: A demonstrated commitment to mentoring junior HR professionals and fostering their development.
- Qualifications: CIPD Level 7 or equivalent, along with substantial corporate or consulting experience.
- Commercial Acumen: Exceptional ability to balance people practises with business strategy.
