Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of families? Our client is seeking a dynamic Senior Family Support Worker to join their dedicated team within the Children & Young People Services in Newham!
About the Role
In this vital position, you will support families with young children to build confidence, resilience, and independence. Through home visits, outreach, and group sessions, you'll help families access essential services and improve outcomes for their children. Your role will be instrumental in providing early help interventions to prevent challenges from escalating.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored interventions for families referred for support.
- Conduct home visits, lead group work, and provide 1:1 sessions.
- Assess needs and create individualised family support plans.
- Build strong relationships with parents/carers and encourage their engagement.
- Help families navigate community resources and services.
- Manage your own caseload while maintaining accurate records.
- Collaborate with professionals across health, education, and social care.
- Ensure safeguarding procedures are strictly followed.
- Contribute to service improvement by sharing family feedback.
For Senior Level:
- Deliver evidence-based parenting programmes (e.g., Triple P).
- Support and monitor group delivery across centres.
- Lead small projects and contribute to service development.
- Provide training or support to colleagues as needed.
About You
You are a motivated professional with:
- A Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in childcare or a related field.
- Strong experience supporting children and families in multi-agency environments.
- Exceptional communication and organisational skills.
- A solid understanding of safeguarding and child development.
