We are working with a leading financial services organization that is looking for a Portfolio Delivery Lead to join their dynamic team. This is a pivotal role that will report directly to the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO).
As the Portfolio Delivery Lead, you will:
- Strategic Partnering: Collaborate with sponsors, business leads, and Project Managers to shape the portfolio's strategic vision, defining its impact, outcomes, and measurable success metrics.
- Roadmap Management: Develop and maintain a strategic roadmap that ensures alignment with organizational goals and prioritises initiatives based on value.
- Governance Oversight: Work closely with the Chief Management Officer (CMO) to establish a governance approach that adheres to enterprise standards and controls.
- Hands-On Delivery: Take accountability for delivering initiatives within the portfolio, providing direct management and support across cross-functional teams.
- Effective Storytelling: Communicate the portfolio's key objectives and contributions to the broader corporate strategy, ensuring regular updates and reports are provided.
- Budget Oversight: Partner with the portfolio sponsor to manage the budget, conducting monthly reviews and supporting decision-making processes.
- Team Leadership: Lead and develop a team of 4-6 Project Managers and 3 Business Analysts, fostering a culture of collaboration and high performance.
- Planning & Dependency Management: Orchestrate quarterly planning sessions, build customer roadmaps, and manage dependencies at a strategic level.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience & Qualifications: A solid background in program management (with relevant qualifications), and preferably Lean Portfolio/Project management qualifications.
- Strategic Acumen: Strong capability in planning and managing dependencies at the portfolio level, with experience consolidating roadmaps.
- Leadership Experience: Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and enhance change delivery capabilities (both waterfall and agile).
- Complex Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrated success in delivering complex high-level roadmaps and effectively articulating strategic initiatives.
