Our client, a reputable organisation within the public sector, is seeking a talented Operations Manager to join their team. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in driving the overall success of the designated areas of service delivery, ensuring the provision of high-quality services for adults.
Responsibilities
- Lead responsibility for the appropriate delivery of services within the designated service area, in adherence to statutory requirements, company policies, procedures, and quality standards.
- Manage the budgetary performance of the designated service unit within the Departmental scheme of delegation.
- Ensure performance aligns with the Performance Assessment Framework, Performance Indicators, and agreed targets.
- Oversee the operational aspects of the County Council's personnel-related policies and procedures, including grievance and disciplinary procedures.
- Recruit and retain qualified staff, providing ongoing training and supervision to enhance their effectiveness.
- Contribute to the development of departmental policies and procedures to improve service quality.
- Administer the Complaints Procedure as per departmental guidelines, conducting investigations and implementing necessary remedial actions.
- Report problems and service achievements to the management team.
- Implement the Performance Development Scheme across the managed service.
- Achieve annual performance targets for the designated service unit and personal development targets.
- Provide management support to departmental out-of-hours services, participating in a rota if required.
- Undertake any other duties assigned by the manager/supervisor, ensuring adherence to departmental policies, practices, procedures, and standards, including Equal Opportunities/Anti-Discriminatory practice.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a similar managerial role within service delivery with adults or related field.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and develop a team.
- Excellent financial acumen, with experience in managing budgets.
- Proven ability to meet performance targets and drive continuous improvement.
- Sound knowledge of relevant statutory requirements and compliance standards.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to represent the organisation both internally and externally.
- Proficiency in utilising management tools and software.
