The Opportunity

Our client, a purpose‑driven non‑profit organisation, is seeking an experienced Learning & Development Manager to lead the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of its learning and training provision. This is a pivotal role for someone passionate about high‑quality learning and the power of education to create meaningful social impact. Reporting to the Head of Workforce & Engagement, the postholder will play a key role in building a skilled, confident and sustainable workforce aligned to national priorities.

About the Organisation

Our client is a forward‑thinking non‑profit organisation dedicated to designing, funding, and scaling solutions to complex social challenges. Through its exciting new programme, the organisation supports the expansion of Individual Placement and Support services across England and Wales, helping individuals access employment and transform their lives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the internal professional lead for learning, training, and workforce capability development
  • Design and deliver the new learning and development approach, ensuring alignment with workforce needs and service quality
  • Lead governance arrangements and quality frameworks for all learning and training provision
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with awarding bodies, regulators, and key stakeholders
  • Oversee internal quality assurance processes, including assessment design, standardisation, and compliance
  • Champion and optimise the Learning Management System (LMS) to enhance learner experience and accessibility
  • Monitor learning performance and impact, producing reports for internal and external stakeholders

Proven experience managing accredited learning or training provision, including quality assurance and governance

Strong knowledge of adult learning principles, blended/digital learning and regulated learning environments

Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills

A provider‑minded approach, balancing learner outcomes, quality and organisational sustainability

Experience establishing or managing accredited qualifications (e.g. Level 4)

Experience leading LMS implementation or digital learning improvement initiatives

Understanding of income generation or sustainable funding models within learning provision
