Why This Role Exists
TRR is currently resource constrained and struggling to meet demand. Testing, reporting, and documentation activities are manual and delayed. There are increasing requirements from Operational Resilience, BCM, Cyber, and regulatory frameworks. There is a need to improve audit readiness, control evidence, and resilience maturity.
TRR supported 17 recovery testing events across EMEA in 2025, increasing to approximately 19 in 2026, with current resource constraints leading to delays in reporting, remediation tracking, and increased audit exposure.
Role Summary
The Technology Resilience & Recovery (TRR) Analyst provides operational support to the TRR function in coordinating IT recovery testing, maintaining recovery documentation, and supporting resilience governance activities. The role contributes to ensuring effective response to IT disruptions and compliance with regulatory expectations.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Operations experience - IT infrastructure support - understanding in networking and database
- Experience in Disaster Recovery and operational resilience
- Broad understanding of IT infrastructure - level 3 support
- Experienced in creating, reviewing or maintaining runbooks and technical documents
- Strong documentation and administrative skills
- Good communication skills with the confidence to chase stakeholders for updates
- Supporting Disaster Recovery and Operational Resilience initiatives
- Reviewing and improving DR procedures and recovery documentation
- Coordinating resilience testing and disaster recovery exercises
- Working with infrastructure, application and service teams to validate recovery plans
- Managing and maintaining operational runbooks and technical documentation
- Tracking actions and ensuring documentation remains up to date
- Liaising with stakeholders across multiple technology teams
- Supporting regulatory and governance requirements relating to Operational Resilience and Disaster Recovery
- Helping improve resilience processes across critical business services
- Strong organisational and documentation skills
- Basic IT infrastructure understanding
- Desirable: Exposure to DR/BC or resilience, Familiarity with COBIT or ISO standards, ServiceNow experience
Key Responsibilities
- IT Recovery Testing Support
- Assist in planning and coordinating IT recovery and scenario-based testing exercises
- Support execution of recovery tests (including weekend activities where required)
- Track test progress, capture outcomes, and ensure actions are documented
- Collect and organise validation evidence following tests
- Documentation & Runbook Management
- Maintain and update IT recovery plans, procedures, and runbooks
- Support consolidation of fragmented documentation into standardised formats
- Ensure documents are version-controlled and accessible during disruption scenarios
- Assist in building a centralised repository of recovery artefacts
- Reporting & Metrics
- Produce post-test and post-incident reports using standard templates
- Track remediation actions, risks, and issues raised from tests or incidents
- Support development and maintenance of KPIs/KRIs for IT recovery
- Assist with trend analysis across incidents and test outcomes
- Risk & Control Support
- Assist in maintaining IT resilience controls and evidencing compliance activities
- Support periodic review of TRR-owned controls (e.g. ITSC controls)
- Track remediation actions through Problem Management or risk systems
- Provide support for audit and regulatory requests
- Scenario & Methodology Development
- Support development of IT recovery test scenarios and scenario catalogue
- Assist in documenting testing methodology and processes
- Contribute to improving realism and coverage of testing scenarios
- Stakeholder Coordination
- Liaise with IT Infrastructure teams, Application teams, BCM, Operational Resilience, and Cyber teams
- Support coordination of inputs required for testing, reporting, and remediation
- Assist in tracking cross-team deliverables and dependencies
