About the Role: As a Housing Solutions Officer, you will play a vital role in administering our housing register applications while providing invaluable advice and support to our customers. Your expertise will help ensure that individuals and families can secure the housing they need.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess new housing register applications according to our allocation scheme.
- Verify applicants for permanent accommodation in line with policy.
- Review existing applicants to maintain accurate housing priorities.
- Collaborate with local multi-agency panels to support individuals in need.
- Manage inquiries from both internal and external customers.
- Provide complex advice verbally and in writing, crafting comprehensive decisions.
- Handle complex cases with bespoke recommendations for the line manager.
- Identify and refer medical and support needs to specialised teams.
- Address cases of fraud and misrepresentation as necessary.
- Represent the Senior Housing Applications Officer in multi-agency meetings.
- Prepare responses to inquiries from Councillors, MPs, and the Ombudsman.
- Strong communication skills with an ability to convey complex information clearly.
- Experience in housing services or a related field.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
- The ability to work collaboratively within a team and with external partners.
- Must have a minimum of 9 months to 1 year experience in Housing applications.
