com**Technical Data Analyst** (Contract)Duration: Up until 31 March 2027 (Possibility for extension)Location: London/Hybrid (2 - 3 days per week on site)Rate: A highly competitive Umbrella Day Rate is available for suitable candidatesRole ProfileWe are seeking a Technical/Data Analyst to join our IT team supporting Trade and Transaction Reporting (TTR) within an investment banking environment. This is an opportunity to play a central role in a BCBS239 data lineage initiative, helping to strengthen the traceability, control, and quality of critical regulatory reporting data across MiFID II, EMIR, and SFTR. The role would suit someone with strong technical analysis skills, a solid understanding of investment banking products and trade flows, and experience of regulatory reporting, data lineage, and data quality controls. Partner with business, compliance, operations, data governance, and technology teams to analyse and define TTR data requirements. Identify and document critical data elements, business definitions, ownership, stewardship, and quality requirements across the TTR domain. Document and maintain end-to-end data lineage across source systems, transformations, controls, and regulatory reporting outputs. Support delivery of BCBS239-aligned improvements to data traceability, governance, reconciliation, and control effectiveness. Investigate reporting and data quality issues, perform root-cause analysis, and support remediation of upstream and downstream control gaps. Translate regulatory and business requirements into clear functional and technical specifications. Maintain high-quality documentation in support of audits, governance reviews, and change delivery. Experience in a Technical Analyst, Business Analyst, or Data Analyst role within investment banking, capital markets, or regulatory reporting. Strong understanding of trade lifecycle data, transaction flows, and regulatory reporting processes. Experience documenting data lineage, mappings, transformation logic, controls, and reconciliations. Understanding of BCBS239 principles and their application to data governance and data quality. Strong SQL and data analysis capability. Knowledge of Agile methodologies and experience in Jira/Confluence. Experience with cloud-based data platforms or big data technologies. Experience of database enquiry languages, i.e., PL/SQL (Oracle) so that data analysis can be performed based on requirements from relevant business parties.
