Adecco are currently recruiting for a New Buildings and Facilities Assistant to join a prestigious university based in Uxbridge.
Responsibilities include:
- Undertaking preliminary investigation and repair of defect reports (e.g. plumbing, electrical, building/carpentry, general repairs).
- Carrying out basic electrical tasks including replacing light bulbs, fluorescent tubes and lamps, checking external lighting, and safe isolation.
- Supporting the Buildings and Facilities Supervisor in completing PPM (preventative planned maintenance), Health & Safety duties, planned activities, and fire drills.
- Informing the Buildings and Facilities Supervisor when equipment and parts are used and require replenishment.
- Undertaking manual handling as required.
- Fulfilling legal requirements of critical Health and Safety / Mandatory inspection and testing regimes (e.g. fire alarm testing, fire extinguisher checks, Emergency Light Testing, Legionella flushing/sampling, lux levels, asbestos condition reporting, PAT Testing).
- Following University Health and Safety guidelines, specifically the asbestos register, COSHH, and wearing correct Uniform and PPE (provided) before completing any maintenance work.
- Maintaining accurate written and electronic records including the use of digital and electronic systems and tablet/PDA devices for all work carried out.
- Ensuring that security within Residences is maintained for students, staff, and contractors, following University procedures.
- Liaising with contractors or other University departments and sections of Commercial Services as required.
