Our client, a leading global financial institution, is seeking an experienced Payments Application Analyst to join their London team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a complex, enterprise-scale payments environment, supporting key nonâproduction platforms and contributing to major technology and payment solution initiatives.
The Role
You will support and manage all technical aspects of nonâproduction environments for core payments applications, including the bank's central payments services hub and instant payments systems. This position involves close collaboration with internal IT teams, business stakeholders, vendors, and QA, ensuring smooth technical change, deployments, testing readiness, and issue resolution.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and maintain payments test environments across multiple technologies
- Manage technical delivery for payments-related projects
- Work with vendors on deployment, integration, and troubleshooting
- Maintain technical documentation and installation guides
- Oversee software deployments into test environments
- Coordinate technical changes, outages, and readiness with QA & PMs
- Support unit testing and assist with payments business analysis
- Participate in project meetings, reporting, and change planning

- Strong understanding of payments (SWIFT, TARGET, SEPA)
- Experience with SWIFT ISO 20022 formats
- Proven ability to work in complex, multiâteam environments
- Excellent analytical, communication, and organisational skills
- Ability to manage workloads, prioritise effectively, and work with urgency
- Clear, structured approach to problem-solving
