Are you ready to make a difference in your community? We are seeking motivated and dedicated individuals to join Merseyside Police's Force Investigations team as a Police Staff Investigator (PSI). This is an exciting opportunity to support the investigation of Level 2 crimes while working alongside experienced professionals in a collaborative environment.

What You'll Do:

  • Supporting Investigations: Take ownership of in-custody arrests and assist with investigations by gathering evidence from various sources.
  • Conducting Interviews: Interview suspects, witnesses, and victims to obtain vital information and ensure compliance with legal standards.
  • Case Preparation: Produce complete and accurate prosecution files, meeting CPS and court deadlines to enhance the quality of evidence presented.
  • Victim Support: Ensure all elements of the Victim's Code of Practise are met, including obtaining Victim Personal Statements.
  • Criminal Intelligence: Seek and exploit criminal intelligence opportunities to prevent and detect crime.

What We're Looking For:

To thrive in this role, you should have:

  • Qualifications: P.I.P Level 1 or 2 qualification (or equivalent experience) and a willingness to undertake PEACE training.
  • Knowledge: A strong understanding of criminal law and investigative procedures.
