We're recruiting an Analytical Development Chemist to join a successful manufacturing business in Liverpool, supporting quality assurance, product testing, and continuous improvement activities within a fast-paced environment.

Pay Rate: £20.60 per hour

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform analytical testing on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.
  • Support the development, validation, and continuous improvement of analytical and quality control methods.
  • Ensure products consistently meet quality, food safety, and customer requirements.
  • Operate, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
  • Accurately record, analyse, and report test results.
  • Assist with quality investigations and the resolution of customer queries.
  • Manage laboratory consumables, chemicals, and retained samples.
  • Ensure compliance with COSHH, Health & Safety, and food safety standards.
  • Contribute to laboratory improvement projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

About You

  • Previous experience working in a laboratory environment carrying out analytical testing.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Able to manage competing priorities within a busy manufacturing setting.
  • Effective communication and organisational skills.
  • Passionate about quality, compliance, and continuous improvement.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Food Science, or a related scientific discipline.
  • Experience within food manufacturing, FMCG, or another regulated industry.
  • Knowledge of analytical instrumentation, calibration, and validation processes.
  • Competent user of Microsoft Office applications.
