The Opportunity
We are currently recruiting for a Stores Operative to join a well-established business based in the HU area of Hull. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced stores professional with a Counterbalance Forklift Truck Licence to join a busy and supportive team.
The Role
As a Stores Operative, you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient movement, storage, and dispatch of materials and products across the site. You will be responsible for maintaining stock accuracy, supporting production operations, and operating a Counterbalance FLT safely and effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Operating a Counterbalance Forklift Truck to move materials and finished goods
- Loading and unloading deliveries safely and efficiently
- Receiving, checking, and booking in stock deliveries
- Picking, packing, and preparing orders for dispatch
- Maintaining accurate stock records and inventory levels
- Ensuring materials are supplied to production areas as required
- Carrying out routine stock checks and cycle counts
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe stores environment
- Following all health and safety procedures and company policies
- Supporting other warehouse and stores activities as required
About You
- Valid Counterbalance Forklift Truck Licence (essential)
- Previous experience in a stores, warehouse, or logistics environment
- Good understanding of stock control and inventory processes
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team
- Positive attitude and willingness to support wider operations
