A well-established and successful manufacturing business based in Hull is looking to recruit a QHSE Compliance Officer to support and drive standards across Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental compliance. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and detail-oriented professional who is passionate about maintaining high standards, ensuring regulatory compliance, and promoting a positive safety culture within a busy industrial environment.
Working closely with the Technical and Management teams, you will play a key role in supporting compliance activities, audits, inspections, investigations and continuous improvement projects across the site.
Key Responsibilities- Support the maintenance and continual improvement of Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental management systems.
- Monitor compliance with applicable legislation, regulations and internal procedures.
- Coordinate and support internal audits, inspections and external regulatory visits.
- Conduct workplace inspections and identify opportunities for compliance and safety improvements.
- Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, carrying out root cause analysis and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
- Assist in the development and review of risk assessments, procedures and safe systems of work.
- Maintain accurate compliance records, training documentation and statutory inspection schedules.
- Monitor corrective and preventative actions, ensuring timely completion.
- Support the management of safety-critical equipment inspections and maintenance schedules.
- Deliver toolbox talks, safety briefings and compliance-related training where required.
- Produce compliance reports and contribute to management reviews.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, accountability and operational excellence.
The successful candidate will possess:
- Previous experience within a QHSE, SHEQ, Compliance, Health & Safety or Quality role.
- Experience working within a manufacturing, engineering or industrial environment.
- Strong understanding of health and safety legislation and compliance requirements.
- Experience conducting audits, inspections and compliance reviews.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Confidence working with compliance documentation, reports and management systems.
- A proactive and solutions-focused approach.
- The ability to communicate effectively and influence employees at all levels.
- NEBOSH General Certificate.
- IOSH Managing Safely.
- ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 Internal Auditor qualification.
- Experience conducting incident investigations and root cause analysis.
- First Aid at Work qualification.
- Experience delivering Health & Safety training.
- Knowledge of environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives.
