We're currently recruiting for an experienced Cross Cut Saw Operative to join a busy and well-established caravan manufacturing team based in the HU7 area. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who takes pride in accuracy, safety, and quality workmanship within a fast-paced production environment.
Shift & Pay
- Monday - Thursday Nights
- Shift Hours: 5:30pm - 3:45am
- Pay Rate: £15.94 per hour (includes £1.50 night shift allowance)
- Long weekend every week - Friday off
Key Responsibilities
- Operating cross cut saw machinery to cut timber, boards, and other materials to specification
- Reading and interpreting cutting lists, measurements, and production instructions
- Setting up and adjusting saw equipment for different materials and job requirements
- Ensuring all cuts are accurate and meet required quality standards
- Carrying out basic machine maintenance and identifying faults where necessary
- Measuring and preparing materials prior to processing
- Performing regular quality checks to maintain consistency and precision
- Supporting wider production teams where required
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised work area
- Working to production targets and following team leader instructions
- Adhering to all health and safety procedures when operating machinery
Requirements
- Previous experience operating a cross cut saw or similar woodworking machinery - essential
- Experience within caravan, furniture, joinery, or modular manufacturing - desirable
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to accurately read measurements and follow technical instructions
- Good understanding of workplace health and safety practices
- Reliable, hardworking, and capable of working independently
- Positive attitude with strong teamwork skills
