We're currently recruiting for an experienced Cross Cut Saw Operative to join a busy and well-established caravan manufacturing team based in the HU7 area. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who takes pride in accuracy, safety, and quality workmanship within a fast-paced production environment.

Shift & Pay

  • Monday - Thursday Nights
  • Shift Hours: 5:30pm - 3:45am
  • Pay Rate: £15.94 per hour (includes £1.50 night shift allowance)
  • Long weekend every week - Friday off

Key Responsibilities

  • Operating cross cut saw machinery to cut timber, boards, and other materials to specification
  • Reading and interpreting cutting lists, measurements, and production instructions
  • Setting up and adjusting saw equipment for different materials and job requirements
  • Ensuring all cuts are accurate and meet required quality standards
  • Carrying out basic machine maintenance and identifying faults where necessary
  • Measuring and preparing materials prior to processing
  • Performing regular quality checks to maintain consistency and precision
  • Supporting wider production teams where required
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised work area
  • Working to production targets and following team leader instructions
  • Adhering to all health and safety procedures when operating machinery

Requirements

  • Previous experience operating a cross cut saw or similar woodworking machinery - essential
  • Experience within caravan, furniture, joinery, or modular manufacturing - desirable
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to accurately read measurements and follow technical instructions
  • Good understanding of workplace health and safety practices
  • Reliable, hardworking, and capable of working independently
