The Opportunity
We're recruiting for an experienced and hands-on Installation & Service Engineer to join a well-established and growing engineering team. This role offers a great balance between workshop-based work in Hull and working away on installations (approx. 50/50 split). You'll play a key role within the installation team while also supporting service and maintenance activities across customer sites.
This position would suit someone with solid experience and a professional approach, who can work independently and contribute positively to a skilled team environment.
What You'll Be Doing
- Carrying out mechanical installation and assembly work both in-house and on-site
- Supporting full equipment installs across the UK and overseas
- Assisting with servicing, maintenance, and repairs of equipment
- Diagnosing faults and delivering effective, timely solutions
- Reading and interpreting engineering and electrical drawings
- Supporting basic electrical panel wiring and panel build work
- Conducting site surveys, install checks, and commissioning activities
- Working collaboratively within the shopfloor team in Hull
- Delivering a high level of customer service when on-site
- Completing job reports and documentation accurately
- Ensuring all work is completed in line with health & safety standards
What We're Looking For
- Strong mechanical engineering background
- Previous experience in installation and/or service engineering roles
- Confident fault-finding and problem-solving ability
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
- A professional, reliable, and experienced approach to work
- Good communication skills and ability to liaise with customers
- Flexible and willing to work away from home when required
- Electrical knowledge or experience (advantageous but not essential)
Travel & Working Pattern
- Roughly 50% workshop-based (Hull) / 50% working away
- UK travel with regular overnight stays (Monday-Friday when required)
- Opportunities for international travel
