The Role
As a Credit Controller, you will be responsible for managing customer accounts, ensuring timely collection of outstanding payments, and maintaining strong relationships with clients. You will play a key role in supporting the company's cash flow while delivering a professional and efficient service. This is a varied role suited to someone who is organised, confident, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a portfolio of customer accounts and monitoring outstanding balances
- Chasing overdue payments via phone and email in a professional manner
- Resolving invoice and payment queries efficiently
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers
- Allocating incoming payments and reconciling accounts
- Supporting billing and invoicing processes
- Liaising with internal departments to resolve discrepancies
- Maintaining accurate records and updating systems regularly
- Producing reports on aged debt and escalating issues where necessary
About You
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Have previous experience in credit control, accounts receivable, or a similar role (preferred)
- Be confident communicating with customers regarding payments and queries
- Have strong negotiation and problem-solving skills
- Possess excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities
- Be comfortable working in a busy, office-based environment
- Have good IT skills and the ability to learn new systems quickly
