Adecco are pleased to be recruiting for a Developer to work within the Thames Valley Police Force.

Location: Kidlington

Contract Type: Temporary

Daily Rate: £450.00 per day

Working Pattern: Full Time, Monday to Friday 37 hours per week

End Date: February 2027

Please note this role will be subject to Police Vetting; you must have resided within the UK for a minimum of 5 years.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Senior Apps Developer, you will:

  • Deliver effective support and maintenance services for locally developed software systems.
  • Recommend industry-standard technical tools and methodologies to improve solution development.
  • Develop, test, and document new software solutions that meet high-quality standards.
  • Review designs, evaluate solutions, and undertake detailed data flows and analysis.
  • Establish and execute plans for unit and system testing, ensuring thorough documentation.
  • Implement products into live operations, adhering to formal change control processes.
  • Collaborate with developers and team leaders to estimate project delivery timescales.

What We're Looking For:

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • Proven experience as a software developer and systems designer, from concept through to support.
  • Expertise in multiple complex software languages and toolsets (e.g., .Net, SQL, XML).
  • Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle and adherence to industry standards.
  • Practical knowledge of ICT infrastructure, software development methods, and maintenance techniques.
  • A track record of coaching and mentoring developers, with an eye for quality assurance.
  • Proficiency in database software and operational/service architecture knowledge.
  • A full UK driving licence, as travel may be required across various locations.
