Job Scope
The Product Development Project Leader is responsible for leading and coordinating assay development projects within a regulated diagnostics environment. This role combines technical leadership with project oversight, ensuring successful delivery of product development activities from concept through to completion while maintaining quality and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate laboratory research for assay development projects
- Assess and verify the diagnostic performance of immunoassays
- Act as a technical lead and key interface with internal teams and external partners
- Contribute to cross-functional product development teams
- Support and participate in technical investigations and problem-solving activities
- Manage and mentor a small team of Product Development Scientists (2-3 direct reports)
- Monitor project progress, timelines, and performance alongside project management teams
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting for product development activities
- Ensure compliance with SOPs, governance procedures, and quality standards
- Support preparation of regulatory submission
