Job Description We are recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer to support the safe, effective and compliant operation of maintenance and improvement activities within a busy manufacturing environment. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring planned and reactive maintenance work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required standards, while supporting plant reliability and continuous improvement initiatives. This is a hands-on role that acts as a key link between operations and maintenance teams, helping to drive high standards of safety, performance and operational excellence. Promote and maintain a strong safety culture, ensuring all electrical work is carried out in compliance with company policies, risk assessments and relevant electrical safety legislation. Support the day-to-day activities of the electrical maintenance team. Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance activities to minimise production downtime. Provide hands-on fault diagnosis and rectification of electrical issues. Support preventative maintenance programmes and continuous reliability improvements. Complete electrical documentation, permits, inspections and maintenance records accurately and on time. Assist with plant upgrades, projects, installations and commissioning of new or modified electrical systems. Identify recurring faults and support root cause analysis and corrective actions. Communicate effectively with operations, mechanical, automation and engineering teams. Follow all company policies, procedures and standards. Electrical qualification with relevant trade certification and/or apprenticeship. Proven experience within an industrial, manufacturing or production environment. Strong knowledge of electrical systems including motors, drives, PLC-controlled equipment, instrumentation and automation interfaces. Understanding of electrical safety standards, lockout/tagout procedures and permit-to-work systems. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, drawings and technical documentation. Experience supporting preventative maintenance programmes and fault-finding in live production environments. Key Performance Measures Electrical safety performance and compliance. Plant uptime and reduction in electrical-related downtime. Effectiveness of preventative maintenance and fault response. Accuracy and completion of maintenance records and documentation.
