As a Purchasing Supervisor, you will work collaboratively with a fast-paced, team-oriented purchasing function. Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, you will be responsible for building key skills, improving processes, and maintaining supplier relationships. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong purchasing experience who is looking to develop both themselves and their team members.
The Opportunity:
- Taking ownership of daily management, providing structured training and guidance to enhance individual and team development.
- Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships to ensure the delivery of high-quality products and services.
- Managing supplier performance and lead times, collaborating with external sales teams and suppliers for forecasting and demand planning.
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, participating in pricing reviews, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Assisting with recruitment, onboarding, and training of new team members.
Your Skills & Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a buyer or supervisory role, including team coaching and supplier relationship development.
- CIPS level 4 certification or a willingness to undertake it.
- Strong leadership skills with a proactive and motivating attitude.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities, accompanied by negotiation skills.
- Excellent organisation skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage workload.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access, as well as familiarity with ERP systems.
