Location: Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk.

Working Hours: Monday & Tuesday: 6:00 am - 3:45 pm; Wednesday & Thursday: 6:00 am - 4:00 pm.

Our client is seeking an experienced Paint Sprayer / Mechanical Assembler to join their growing manufacturing team. This hands-on role involves working on high-quality mechanical components, combining skilled spray painting with mechanical assembly.

Responsibilities
  • Paint Spraying: Prepare, prime, and spray components to high-quality standards. Mix paints accurately and perform thickness and adhesion checks. Maintain spray equipment and ensure a clean, safe workspace.
  • Mechanical Assembly: Assemble and test valves, switches, alternators, and control units. Read and follow assembly drawings and Bills of Materials. Select correct materials and inspect work for defects. Support continuous improvement initiatives, 5S, and TPM activities.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years' spray painting experience in manufacturing or industrial environments (automotive/metal coatings beneficial).
  • Skilled in surface preparation, paint application, and quality checks.
  • Able to follow technical documents and standard operating procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail with a proactive, team-focused approach.
  • Comfortable using PPE, handling hazardous materials, and working in a busy production environment.
  • Good general education; technical training or relevant certifications (SSPC/NACE) are a bonus.
Physical Requirements
  • Able to stand for long periods, lift up to 13.6 kg, and work with air-fed masks.
