About the Role
We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Customer Care Expert to join their busy Customer Care Centre in Ipswich. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity. You will be a key point of contact for both new and existing customers, handling enquiries, processing hire orders, and responding to time-critical service and breakdown requests. This is a fast-paced, high-volume environment where delivering a consistently high level of customer service is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for customer enquiries via phone and email
- Process hire orders, prepare accurate documentation, and ensure attention to detail
- Manage breakdown calls and service-related enquiries with urgency and professionalism
- Accurately log jobs, ensuring all relevant details and updates are recorded
- Liaise with transport planners, depots, engineers, and third parties to coordinate deliveries, collections, and repairs
- Provide customers with clear updates, estimated times of arrival, and effective solutions
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships, identifying opportunities to support business growth
- Meet performance targets including call answering times and email response times
- Escalate issues to management where necessary
About You
- Previous experience in a customer service role within a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills across phone and email
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively
- Ability to remain calm and solution-focused under pressure
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Competent in Microsoft Office, including Excel
- A flexible and proactive team player
- Experience within plant hire, logistics, or a service-based environment is desirable
