EMEA Capital Management London/Hybrid Contract to December 2026 – maternity cover. Day rate £800 via Umbrella Company.
My client is one of the largest financial institutions headquartered in Japan, with an established presence across all consumer and corporate banking businesses. Through its subsidiaries and affiliates, they offer a diverse range of financial services, including commercial banking, leasing, securities, credit card, consumer finance and other services. They are looking for an EMEA Capital Management colleague to join the Portfolio Strategy Group on a maternity cover contract until December 2026. You will be working Monday to Friday, standard office hours with the occasional out of hours requirement in line with business needs. The role is hybrid working being in the office 2-3 days a week with the remainder of time working from home.
About the Role: This team plays a critical role in shaping how the organisation manages its balance sheet efficiently and maximises profitability across its lending activities. Sitting within the wider Planning function, the team provides a portfolio-level, strategic view of how financial resources are deployed and optimised, ensuring the business makes informed, commercially sound decisions. In this role you will support with the evaluation of business opportunities at sector, client and product level, stepping back to assess where growth makes strategic sense and how best to allocate resources.
With responsibility for product and deal reviews, client profitability assessments and analytical modelling, you will require strong financial insight, excellent analytical capability and the confidence to bring gravitas to discussions with senior stakeholders. You should have hands-on experience performing detailed calculations and financial analysis to support decision-making.
As a senior member of the Portfolio Strategy Group, lead strategically important initiatives across the EMEA region related to modelling, advocacy and optimisation of the region’s regulatory capital footprint and generate uplift to the regional ROE level. Identify ways to optimize EMEA RWA, Credit cost, etc across the region’s portfolio and product set by leveraging the knowledge and skill of Credit and capital modelling and complete it in collaboration with relevant departments in EMEA and globally including Tokyo.
Establish an internal framework and platform to periodically provide useful EMEA wide portfolio data or information for enhancing decision making processes around asset allocation in EMEA working with the EMEA Product and Coverage departments. Co-work with Product teams across EMEA Departments to support them to develop new products or to improve value proposition of existing products by providing sophisticated analysis about market trends, capital consumption of the regional portfolio and the regulatory environment.
