Job Title: Import and Export Officer

Location: Wrexham Industrial Estate

Remuneration: upto £40,

Contract Details: Full-time, permanent position – Monday-Friday (9am-5pm)

Responsibilities:

  • Interpersonal Communication & Relationship Proficiency: You will effectively communicate with various stakeholders, from government officials to corporate teams and suppliers, building strong relationships along the way.
  • Regulatory Expertise: Your profound understanding of customs regulations, trade agreements, and tariff systems will enable you to navigate the intricacies of international trade law.
  • Attention to Detail: Your exceptional precision in scrutinising documents and processes will ensure that all trade activities meet regulatory standards.
  • Analytical Abilities: Your capacity to interpret complex regulations and analyse trade data will be crucial in making informed decisions and optimising compliance strategies.
  • Customs Application: You will identify and apply for customs simplifications on behalf of traders, including Inward/Outward Processing, Customs Warehousing, Approved Exporter, Duty Deferment, Returned Goods Relief, and VAT postponed accounting.
  • Respond to Customs related enquiries: You will address inquiries pertaining to commodity coding, trade preference, duties, valuation, and customs transit.
  • HMRC & VAT working knowledge: You will possess critical knowledge and compliance with HMRC and VAT practises, keeping them aligned with current legislation and regulations through continuous professional development.
  • Competencies, Qualifications, working knowledge:

  • Strong track record of successfully obtaining customs approvals on behalf of traders.
  • Ability to work efficiently under tight and demanding deadlines.
  • Thorough understanding of the market, key players, and product knowledge.
  • A resilient self-starter with a strong focus on results.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organisation.
  • Ambitious and highly motivated.
  • Working knowledge of MS-Office and sales support functions.
