Overview
We're currently looking for an experienced and reliable Site Chef to join the catering team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a structured daytime environment, offering a good work-life balance with no evening or weekend shifts. You'll be working as part of a small, friendly kitchen team, preparing and serving freshly cooked meals for site staff during busy lunchtime services.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing and cooking large-volume meals ready for lunchtime service
- Delivering a daily menu consisting of two hot main options and one vegetarian dish
- Supporting menu planning and ensuring meals are nutritious, balanced, and appealing
- Working alongside other chefs and catering assistants to ensure smooth service
- Maintaining high standards of food hygiene, safety, and cleanliness at all times
- Keeping all workstations, kitchen equipment, and storage areas organised and tidy
- Assisting with stock rotation, storage, and basic ordering where required
- Ensuring portion control and minimal food waste
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience working as a chef in a high-volume catering environment (e.g., canteens, contract catering, industrial kitchens)
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure, particularly during busy service periods
- A team player with a positive, can-do attitude
- Good organisation and time management skills
- Ability to work independently when required and take initiative
