Adecco are recruiting for an experienced Administrator to join the London Borough of Hounslow. This role focuses on the operational side of recruitment and would suit a strong administrator with a keen eye for detail. You do not need prior recruitment or HR experience to be successful in this role.
Contract Details
- Contract Type: Temporary (MAT leave cover)
- Pay Rate: 17.09 per hour (PAYE) / 22.65 per hour (Umbrella)
- Hours: 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday
- Working Arrangements: Hybrid - office based on Wednesdays and Thursdays
About the Role
We are looking for a highly organised, detail-focused administrator to join Hounslow Council's HR/Recruitment team. This role is operational and administrative in nature, supporting the smooth delivery of recruitment and onboarding activity across the organisation. You do not need previous recruitment or HR experience to be successful in this role - what matters most is strong administration skills, accuracy, good judgement, and a customer-focused approach.
You will play a key role in ensuring recruitment campaigns run efficiently, records are accurate, and candidates and hiring managers receive a professional, timely service throughout the recruitment and onboarding process.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver a high-quality, customer-focused recruitment administration service
- Administer recruitment campaigns from vacancy creation through to onboarding
- Manage job advertising, monitor campaign progress and support interview scheduling
- Complete pre-employment checks including Right to Work, DBS and references
- Issue contracts and ensure new starters are accurately recorded on the HR system (currently iTrent)
- Maintain accurate records to support compliance, safer recruitment and audit requirements
- Provide first-line advice on recruitment processes, policies and procedures
- Support hiring managers in using the recruitment system, offering guidance and troubleshooting as required
- Liaise professionally with candidates, hiring managers, agencies and external providers
- Escalate complex issues where appropriate while resolving routine queries independently
- Contribute to continuous improvement of recruitment processes, systems and candidate experience
