Quality Engineer
About the Role
Luxinar is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to support and continuously improve our Quality Management System, customer quality performance, and supplier quality processes.
This is a hands‑on role suited to an individual with a strong manufacturing background who enjoys collaborating across engineering, production, purchasing, and customer‑facing teams to ensure the highest standards of quality are maintained throughout the business.
The successful candidate will play a key role in managing customer concerns, developing supplier performance, supporting audits, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Quality
- Act as the primary quality contact for customer complaints and quality concerns
- Lead investigations using structured problem‑solving methodologies including 8D, 5 Why and Root Cause Analysis
- Manage corrective and preventive actions through to successful completion
- Support customer audits and quality enquiries
- Analyse quality trends and KPI data to identify improvement opportunities
Supplier Quality
- Manage supplier approval and performance monitoring activities
- Conduct supplier audits and supplier development reviews
- Work closely with suppliers to resolve quality issues and reduce non‑conformances
- Manage supplier corrective actions and ensure effective implementation
- Maintain approved supplier records and associated quality documentation
Quality Management Systems
- Maintain and improve the ISO 9001 Quality Management System
- Support internal and external audits
- Develop and maintain procedures, work instructions and quality records
- Ensure compliance with customer, regulatory and internal quality requirements
- Support document control and quality system improvements
Quality Engineering
- Investigate non‑conformances and lead corrective action activities
- Support risk assessments, FMEAs and continuous improvement projects
- Review technical documentation, drawings and specifications where required
- Work collaboratively with Engineering, Production, Purchasing and Customer Services
- Assist in maintaining a culture of quality and operational excellence
Essential Experience
- Minimum 5 years' experience within a Quality Engineering, Quality Assurance or Quality Systems role
- Experience within a manufacturing, engineering, aerospace, electronics or precision engineering environment
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems
- Proven experience managing customer complaints and corrective actions
- Supplier Quality experience including supplier development or supplier auditing
- Strong Root Cause Analysis skills using structured methodologies
- Experience conducting internal audits
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Highly Desirable
- Lead Auditor qualification
- Experience of AS9100, ISO14001 or other regulated management systems
- Experience creating or updating quality procedures
- FMEA, PFMEA or risk assessment experience
- Engineering drawing interpretation experience
- First Article Inspection or validation experience
- Mechanical or manufacturing engineering background
We are particularly interested in candidates who have progressed from a manufacturing, inspection or engineering environment into quality engineering, bringing practical production knowledge alongside strong quality systems experience.
