Salary: £50,000 per annum + Overtime Available

Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off, 12-hour shifts on a rotating 7-day pattern (includes weekends)

The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Engineer with an electrical bias to join a busy 24/7 manufacturing operation. This is an excellent opportunity for an electrically qualified engineer with experience in industrial or manufacturing environments to become part of a well-established engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance activities, ensuring equipment reliability and supporting continuous production operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out electrical maintenance activities across a manufacturing facility.
  • Work closely with the Engineering Supervisor to complete maintenance tasks efficiently and safely.
  • Diagnose and repair faults on electrical systems and production equipment.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
  • Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements where appropriate.
  • Follow all company health and safety procedures and safe systems of work.
  • Identify and report unsafe conditions or practices immediately.
  • Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
  • Support wider maintenance activities and assist with non-core tasks when required.

Requirements

  • Previous experience within an electrical maintenance role, ideally within manufacturing, heavy industry or a production environment.
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Experience working with:
    • PLCs
    • Inverters and drives
    • Motors
    • Electrical control systems
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and circuit diagrams.
  • Experience with electrical equipment commonly found within industrial and office environments.
  • Knowledge of Lock Out / Tag Out (LOTO) procedures and safe isolation practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Work within an industrial environment.
  • Flexible approach to working shifts.

Desirable Experience

  • High Voltage (HV) experience and/or qualifications.
  • Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Installation experience.
  • Counterbalance Forklift Truck licence.
  • Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP) experience.

Qualifications

  • Minimum City & Guilds qualification with 17th Edition.
  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
  • HV qualifications desirable but not essential.
