The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Installation Engineer to join a growing engineering business with an established UK customer base.

This role would suit someone with a couple of years' engineering experience who is looking to build their career within a specialist installation team. You'll work alongside experienced engineers on customer sites across the UK, assisting with the installation, assembly and commissioning of equipment.

Unlike a traditional service engineer role, you won't be working away every week. Instead, you can expect to spend approximately 50% of your time working away from home, supporting installation projects nationwide.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on engineering work, travelling to different locations, and developing their technical skills within a supportive and experienced team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the installation and assembly of equipment at customer sites
  • Support site-based engineering projects across the UK
  • Read and interpret engineering and technical drawings
  • Carry out mechanical fitting and assembly work
  • Assist with equipment testing and commissioning activities
  • Complete installation checks and site surveys
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with company procedures
  • Maintain accurate job documentation and reports
  • Work closely with customers and colleagues on site
  • Support continuous improvement and high-quality workmanship standards

What We're Looking For

  • Previous engineering, mechanical fitting or installation experience
  • Around 2+ years of engineering experience preferred
  • Strong practical and hands-on approach
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Professional and customer-focused attitude
  • Willingness to travel and stay away from home when required
  • Reliable, hardworking and eager to learn
  • Full UK Driving Licence

Travel & Benefits

  • UK-wide travel as part of the installation team
  • Hotels, travel and expenses covered when working away
  • Meals provided when staying away
  • Competitive salary of £33,000
  • Opportunity to develop your engineering skills alongside experienced engineers
  • Supportive team environment with long-term career prospects
  • Opportunity to work on projects across a variety of customer sites

Why Apply?

  • Hands-on engineering and installation work
  • Working on varied projects around the UK
  • Learning from experienced engineers
  • Working within a close-knit team
  • Building a long-term engineering career
  • A balance of site work, travel and home life
