Electronics Inspector
Location: Waterlooville Pay: Dependant on experience.
The Opportunity
We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturer operating within a high-reliability electronics environment.
Due to continued growth, our client is seeking an experienced Electronics Inspector to join their Quality team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented individual with experience inspecting electronic assemblies, PCBAs, and finished products within a regulated manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out visual and functional inspections of electronic assemblies, PCBAs, wiring, and finished products.
- Perform first‑off, in‑process, and final inspections throughout the manufacturing process.
- Verify products against engineering drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), work instructions, and quality standards.
- Identify component, assembly, and cosmetic defects, including soldering faults, placement errors, and wiring discrepancies.
- Use inspection equipment including microscopes and vernier callipers.
- Complete quality documentation accurately and maintain full product traceability.
- Raise Non‑Conformance Reports (NCRs) where required and support corrective action activities.
- Assist with root cause investigations and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with IPC standards, customer specifications, and internal quality procedures.
- Work collaboratively with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to resolve quality issues.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organised working environment.
- Candidate Requirements
Essential
- Previous experience within an electronics manufacturing or inspection role.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
- Good understanding of electronic components and PCB assemblies.
- Experience of quality inspection techniques and processes.
- IPC‑A‑610 certification.
- Experience using microscopes, measuring equipment, and electronic test equipment.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality systems.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high‑quality standards.
- Experience working within aerospace, defence, or other high‑reliability manufacturing sectors.
- Ability to complete inspection records and quality documentation accurately.
