Are you an experienced Transport Coordinator looking for your next challenge? We are seeking a highly organised and proactive individual to join a busy logistics operation, managing daily UK transport movements and ensuring customers receive a first-class service. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with previous experience in transport, logistics, freight forwarding, or distribution who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and thrives on problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily UK collections and deliveries.
- Arrange transport with approved hauliers, carriers, and subcontractors.
- Manage a variety of freight movements including full loads, part loads, palletised freight, and groupage shipments.
- Monitor vehicle movements and maintain regular communication with drivers and transport providers.
- Provide customers with accurate shipment updates and estimated delivery times.
- Resolve transport issues including delays, failed collections, delivery discrepancies, damages, and shortages.
- Book timed collections and delivery appointments.
- Obtain competitive transport rates and prepare customer quotations.
- Source cost-effective transport solutions while maintaining service quality.
- Process and monitor Proof of Delivery (POD) documentation.
- Investigate and resolve delivery queries and invoice discrepancies.
- Prepare completed transport files for billing and ensure all charges are correctly recorded.
- Update internal systems and maintain accurate transport records.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and build strong working relationships with customers and suppliers.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience within transport, logistics, freight forwarding, or distribution
- Strong knowledge of UK road transport operations
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- The ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple shipments simultaneously
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Experience using transport management systems and Microsoft Office
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making
