Our client is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Catering Assistant - Picker to support their operations in a busy food service environment. Position Details:
- Contract Type: Temporary (3 months)
- Hourly Rate: £11.44
- Start Date: 3rd March 2025
- End Date: June 2025
- Working Pattern: Full Time (37.5 hours/week)
- Shifts: 5 Days (Monday - Sunday) - Must be flexible and able to work the following shift patterns - 07.00-15.00, 12.00-20.00 and 11.00-19.00
- Location: Great Western Hospital, Marlborough Rd, Swindon SN3 6BB
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure patient meals are correctly picked and packed, in line with Saffron picking and packing reports.
- Work closely with the Catering Team Leader to maintain high standards.
- Operate in a cold environment (under 5 degrees) while performing picking duties.
- Load regeneration ovens and monitor food temperatures to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Maintain hygiene standards in the Picking Room and ensure proper stock rotation using FIFO methods.
- Engage with patients and Trust staff courteously to enhance their food and beverage experience.
- Perform daily checks on fridge and freezer temperatures and report any issues as needed.
- Complete all tasks in accordance with Health and Safety, Quality policies, and documentation requirements.
What We're Looking For:
- Good basic education with strong reading and writing skills.
- Experience working within a food service environment.
- Customer service skills and clear verbal communication.
- Understanding of hygiene, safety, and special diet awareness.
- Valid Level 2 Food Hygiene certification (Preferred)
- Knowledge of COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health).
