Job Purpose and Role:

  • Provide meaningful support to children, young people, adoptive families, and birth families.
  • Work directly with families, both individually and in groups, to promote development and resilience.
  • Prepare children for adoption, facilitating smooth transitions and conducting life story work.
  • Contribute to multi-agency assessments of adoption support needs.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Planning and facilitating individual and group work with children and adoptive families.
  • Collaborating with families and professionals to assess needs and develop support plans.
  • Undertaking life story work and compiling Life Story Books for children.
  • Planning and supervising post-adoption contact between adopted children and their birth families.
  • Delivering and evaluating specialist group work, support groups, and training.
