Train Cleaner (Nights) Location: Ardwick Depot, Manchester Pay Rate: 13.96 per hour + Overtime paid at 150% Contract: 6-Month Contract (until 18th December 2026) Shift Pattern: 4 On / 4 Off Hours: 7:00 PM - 4:00 AM About the Role We are currently recruiting for Train Cleaners to join a team based at the Ardwick rail depot. This is a physically demanding role working on a night shift basis, supporting the cleaning and maintenance of rolling stock to ensure trains are presented to the highest standards for service. The successful candidate will be reliable, safety-conscious, and comfortable working as part of a team. The role involves manual handling duties, including moving seat frames and other equipment, so a good level of physical fitness is essential. Key Responsibilities Clean allocated rolling stock in accordance with production schedules and site procedures. Carry out external cleaning of trains using manual cleaning methods. Clean driveline systems using brushes and compressed air equipment. Assist with fuelling, tanking, and Controlled Emission Toilet (CET) operations where required. Perform underframe cleaning in line with depot-specific guidelines. Work effectively within a team of 3-4 colleagues. Report defects, damage, or maintenance issues to supervisors.
