Are you handy with tools and love keeping spaces safe and welcoming? We're looking for an enthusiastic Estates/Maintenance Assistant to join our client in Kendal on a temporary basis for at least a month, potentially longer.

Position: Estates Assistant

Location: Based at our client's college campus so a

Hours: Monday to Friday, 37 hours a week, 8 hours per day with half hour unpaid lunch - Ideally 7am - 3.30pm but potential for flexibility on hours.

Pay: 13 per hour

REQUIREMENT: A Current DBS is mandatory for this role.

Your Role:

As an Estates Assistant, you'll be the backbone of our facility, ensuring everything runs smoothly and safely. Your day-to-day tasks will include:

  • Performing general maintenance duties like changing lightbulbs, fixing door handles, and painting.
  • Patrolling buildings to maintain safe access and ensure security.
  • Securing the premises at the end of each day.
  • Being a visible presence on site to deter unruly behaviour.
  • Responding to first aid needs and emergencies.
  • Conducting daily litter picks and managing recycling bins.
  • Delivering parcels and preparing rooms for various events.
  • Addressing immediate estate issues and hazards.

What We're Looking For:

  • Previous handyman experience is essential.
  • A proactive approach to health and safety.
  • Excellent customer care skills.
  • Flexibility to meet the college's needs, including occasional weekends and events.
