About the Role
As a Production Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient manufacture of mechanical and electrical products. Working closely with the Operations Manager and Engineering Manager, you will support New Product Introduction (NPI) and oversee existing products throughout their manufacturing lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical and production engineering support for mechanical and electrical assemblies.
- Serve as the critical link between engineering design and production.
- Create and maintain comprehensive work instructions, process documentation, and quality controls.
- Support NPI to ensure manufacturability and cost efficiency.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance quality, efficiency, and throughput.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any production issues that arise.
- Design or specify tooling, fixtures, and test equipment.
- Provide training and technical support to production staff.
- Ensure safe working practices are upheld across all operations.
- Oversee the Quality Engineer to maintain high standards.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Production Engineer in a mechanical/electrical manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience in both engineering and production support.
- Solid knowledge of manufacturing methods, assembly, and integration of mechanical/electrical systems.
- Strong documentation and quality support skills.
Desirable
- Experience with product/system testing.
- Familiarity with defence sector standards.
