Role Overview

Provide day-to-day operational leadership and direct line management for the Temporary Accommodation service, managing a team of interim TA Housing Officers, supported by two Senior Interim TA Housing Officers.

  • Type: Temporary
  • Pay: £575 per day Umbrella
  • Location: Newham Dockside
  • Hours: Full time, Monday - Friday
  • Working arrangements: Hybrid, 3 days per week office based

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership for delivery of all TA-related actions within the TA Improvement Plan, ensuring activity is completed where responsibility sits with the team.
  • Drive progress against TA improvement targets set out in the TA Delivery Plan, maintaining pace, focus, and accountability.
  • Manage performance through clear targets, milestones, and regular reporting, ensuring weekly outputs are achieved.
  • Lead and quality-assure case review activity, including high-cost and complex TA placements, to support step-downs and cost reduction.
  • Oversee and support negotiation activity with accommodation providers to improve value for money and reduce overall TA expenditure.
  • Ensure consistent, lawful, and customer-focused decision-making in line with housing and homelessness legislation and guidance.
  • Act as the escalation point for complex cases, provider issues, and operational risks, resolving issues quickly and pragmatically.
  • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders (housing options, procurement, finance, safeguarding) to deliver joined-up TA solutions.
