- Proven ability to create and deliver communications and engagement content, including leaflets, website content, resident engagement and co-production activities.
- Excellent report-writing and presentation skills, with the ability to produce detailed reports, plans and presentations for senior management and Members.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply robust project management methodologies to scope, develop, appraise, approve, implement and evaluate assigned projects.
- Oversee smaller projects delivered by team members, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Produce, maintain and regularly update all project and programme documentation.
- Identify and manage financial, material and human resources for project delivery; secure external funding where appropriate.
- Lead engagement teams or seasonal staff to deliver high-quality stakeholder engagement across residents, businesses, officers, client and partner organisations.
- Develop targeted communications and behaviour-change strategies to support improvements in waste, recycling, street cleansing and parks services.
- Support the development of Public Realm Services strategies in response to legislative or budgetary changes.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and technical waste management developments; advise senior managers and contribute to consultation responses.
- Conduct benchmarking, research and literature reviews; prepare reports and insights for senior officers and Members.
- Represent the client in regional working groups, including the East London Joint Waste and Resource Strategy and the East London Waste Prevention Programme.
- Support policy development relating to waste minimisation, recycling, reuse and street cleanliness.
- Identify service improvement opportunities, prepare business cases and implement approved solutions.
- Lead communication and engagement initiatives promoting sustainable waste management and community responsibility.
- Prepare Member briefings, Committee reports and strategic documents.
- Lead public consultations, workshops and stakeholder sessions.
- Develop procurement specifications and manage procurement processes linked to communication, engagement or project delivery.
- Handle enquiries and complaints from residents, Members and landlords professionally.
Experience Required
- Significant project management experience.
- Experience managing project budgets, events or communication initiatives.
- Proven record of delivering high-quality results within time and budget constraints.
- Experience managing multiple priorities in a complex and fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrable experience developing business cases.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to produce insightful, data-driven recommendations.
