About the Role

We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for a Maintenance Technician to provide weekend cover at a modern, purpose-built student accommodation in the heart of Edinburgh. This is a hands-on, varied role ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving and takes pride in maintaining high standards. You'll play a key part in ensuring residents have a safe, clean, and well-maintained living environment throughout the summer period.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the property is well presented, clean, and fully functional at all times
  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance tasks in line with service standards
  • Complete basic repairs, maintenance, and minor redecoration
  • Support and liaise with external contractors when required
  • Maintain communal areas, including regular cleaning and upkeep
  • Manage waste areas, ensuring bin stores are tidy and rotated properly
  • Conduct routine health & safety checks, including fire safety and risk assessments
  • Assist with legionella testing and compliance tasks
  • Help create and maintain a safe and secure environment for residents

About You

  • Previous experience in maintenance, facilities, or security is desirable
  • A proactive, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
  • Good awareness of health & safety practices
  • A relevant trade qualification is an advantage, but not essential
