Location: Edinburgh

Pay: £16.50 per hour, paid weekly via PAYE

Hours: 09:00am - 5:30pm, Monday to Friday (40 hours per week, 30-minute unpaid lunch)

Contract: Temporary, 17/08/2026-11/09/2026 (4 weeks)

Join a Busy Summer Turnaround Team

We're recruiting a Summer Maintenance Operative to support a leading student accommodation provider during the crucial summer turnaround period. This is a hands-on role focused on preparing accommodation for the new academic year, ensuring rooms and communal areas are maintained to a high standard for incoming students and summer guests. If you have maintenance experience and enjoy practical work in a fast-paced environment, we'd love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out general maintenance and repair work across the site
  • Assist with room refreshes and preparation for new residents
  • Support move-in activities, including occasional heavy lifting
  • Complete basic plumbing, painting and decorating tasks
  • Undertake paint work, mastic work and replacements
  • Perform routine safety checks and ensure compliance with health and safety standards
  • Work collaboratively with the Maintenance Technician team and wider site staff
  • Help deliver a positive experience for residents and guests

About You

  • Previous experience in residential maintenance, facilities, property maintenance or a trade such as plumbing or carpentry
  • Practical, hands-on approach with good attention to detail
  • Positive attitude and strong team-working skills
  • Flexible and proactive, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities
  • Good communication skills and a professional manner
  • Trade qualifications are advantageous but not essential
