We are supporting a progressive and technology‑driven accountancy practice with multiple offices across Scotland. The firm has built a strong reputation for high‑quality work, excellent client relationships and a collaborative culture. They are now looking to appoint a Tax Manager to support the Head of Tax across a varied portfolio, with work weighted significantly towards Personal Tax. Key Responsibilities

  • Personal Tax Compliance – preparation and review of personal tax returns and related computations.
  • Tax Advisory – involvement in advisory matters such as trusts & estates, inheritance tax (IHT) planning, corporate transactions (support & training available).
  • Tax Return Oversight – ensure timely submission of tax returns and computations to avoid late penalties.
  • Client Communication – build strong relationships and provide proactive tax guidance.
  • HMRC Management – assist with handling HMRC enquiries and correspondence.
  • Team Development – supervise and mentor junior staff where required.
  • Integrated Working – collaborate with audit and accounts teams to deliver joined‑up client service. Prepare tax work and review work completed by others, depending on experience.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Strong personal tax experience (essential).
  • Exposure to trusts/IHT or corporate tax is beneficial but not essential – full support and opportunities to learn will be provided.
  • Tax qualification preferred (ATT/CTA/ACCA/ICAS etc.) but not required.
  • Comfortable balancing compliance with developing advisory skills.
  • Positive communicator with strong technical accuracy.
