Mobile Device Specialist (MDM Engineer) (i OS/i Pad OS) - Hybrid working in Bristol (3 Days Onsite / 2 Days Remote).

Are you an experienced Mobile Specialist with a passion for managing and optimising Apple devices at scale?
This role offers end-to-end ownership of a large corporate i Phone and i Pad fleet, shaping the mobile environment, driving standards, and ensuring a secure, smooth and modern user experience.
Responsibilities
- Designing, implementing, and maintaining Jamf Pro configurations for i OS/i Pad OS (ABM/DEP enrolment, supervision, configuration profiles, SSO, compliance baselines).
- Owning the full i Phone/i Pad lifecycle: procurement, zero-touch enrolment, kitting, deployment, break/fix, RMA, refresh, and secure decommissioning.
- Managing mobile apps via Jamf: packaging, VPP licensing, scoped deployments, version governance, staged rollouts, and rollback processes.
- Overseeing SIM and carrier management: activations/ports, tariff optimisation, roaming rules, usage monitoring, cost management, reconciliation, and renewals.
- Monitoring and improving device security and compliance (encryption, OS governance, managed open-in, passcode policies, DLP).
- Maintaining accurate asset and SIM inventories and ensuring audit readiness.
- Producing clear documentation, runbooks, and end-user guides.
- Providing L2/L3 mobile support and working with the service desk to streamline L1 triage.
- Leading pilots for new OS releases, device models, and Jamf features, including testing, communication, and phased rollout.
- Integrating mobile controls with identity and access tools (Okta/Azure AD, Conditional Access) and network access (Wi-Fi/EAP certificate-based authentication).
- Reporting on compliance, OS adoption, app health, asset accuracy, usage trends, and spend, with recommendations for continuous improvement.
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years managing enterprise Apple mobile estates using Jamf Pro.
- Strong hands-on experience with supervised deployments, configuration profiles, VPP, and managed app configurations.
- Familiarity with identity and access management (Okta/Azure AD) and Conditional Access concepts.
- Proven experience managing SIMs and carrier services (tariffs, roaming, number management, billing optimisation).
- Solid understanding of mobile security and privacy controls.
- Scripting/automation experience.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Relevant certifications are an advantage.
